Michael is Vice Chairman of Private Markets, overseeing RBC GAM’s set of private market investment solutions, including real estate, infrastructure, and mortgage funds. In this capacity, he also leads the development and launch of new private market fund initiatives. Michael joined RBC GAM in 2018 as head, Real Estate Equity Investments and was instrumental in the development and launch of RBC GAM’s core real estate fund in 2019. Since then, he has led the development and launch of new mortgage solutions as well as RBC GAM’s inaugural infrastructure fund. Prior to joining the firm, he served as chief financial officer of the global real estate development and investment arm at one of Canada’s largest pension plans. Michael has also held senior positions at another leading Canadian pension plan, overseeing real estate investing in Canada, the U.S., and Europe, and was a trustee of two public real estate investment trusts. He started his career in the investment industry in 1992.
